How To - Whip Stitch Border
This technique is used to neatly sew two small bits of fabric together and create a neat edge. Alternatively you could use a small amount of fabric glue or PVA glue but be careful not to add too much because it may seep through any fabric.
Firstly you will need to tie a knot in the bottom of your thread and thread your needle

Step 1 - Place your knot between the two bits of fabric so that it is hidden

Step 2 - Bring your needle through the front piece of fabric about 3-5mm from the edge

Step 3 - "Whip" your thread over the edge of your two pieces of fabric and then bring your needle in through the back a small distance from the first stitch This time bring your needle through both pieces of fabric

Repeat all the way around the edge of your patch To finish bring your needle out from between the two pieces of fabric. Then Slide the needle back through between the two pieces of fabric and bring it out on the other side of the heart. Cut the thread near the fabric so that the end of the thread is hidden inside of the patch.
